In accordance, with the practices that are already in place for undergraduate and graduate degree programs, the AVA3 Quality Assurance System has been formally extended to doctoral education. This system provides a framework to analyze activities, monitor outcomes, and propose improvements aimed at enhancing the organization, effectiveness, and overall quality of PhD programs.
All PhD programs will be regularly monitored and assessed as part of a continuous quality improvement cycle. A Review Commitee is established to address the tasks of Self Evalutation of the PhD course producing annually two main documents:
- the Annual Monitoring Report
- the Self-Assessment Report
These reports are used for internal evaluation. More information can be found here.

For improving the PhD program, opinions and proposals are gathered from the internal interested parties (University Government System, Departments, Courses of Study, Quality Assurance, Evaluation Unit...), and the national and international comparison with external stakeholders. To this end, the PhD program consults, at least once per year, a Steering Committee, which is formed for all the bachelor, master and PhD programs at the Dept. of Information Enginneering of UniFI, and a restricted Advisory Board.
The Advisory Board is responsible for expressing opinions on the design and updating of training programs, in line with the most advanced research trends.
